Product Advantages
Grade 9 is a typical medium-strength titanium alloy, formally designated as Ti-3Al-2.5V. The addition of aluminum and vanadium significantly increases its tensile strength while maintaining good ductility and toughness. With a density of approximately 4.48 g/cm³ — much lower than stainless steel — Grade 9 stands out in engineering structures that demand both high strength and lightweight properties. Compared to commercially pure titanium, Grade 9 offers not only superior mechanical performance but also higher heat resistance, enabling it to maintain stable properties at elevated temperatures. This makes it particularly well-suited for aerospace and power system applications with demanding requirements.
Grade 9 retains excellent corrosion resistance, preserving titanium’s inherent ability to resist seawater, oxidizing media, and a wide range of acid and alkaline solutions. Thanks to the alloying effect of aluminum and vanadium, Grade 9 also achieves remarkable heat and creep resistance, allowing it to perform reliably at temperatures up to 300°C, which helps extend the service life of equipment.
Compared to stainless steel pipes, seamless Grade 9 titanium tubes can reduce structural weight by around 40% while delivering superior corrosion resistance and fatigue performance. They perform more reliably under high-cycle fatigue conditions, effectively lowering the risk of structural fatigue failure.
