Product Advantages
Grade 12 titanium alloy is developed by adding approximately 0.3% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.8% nickel (Ni) to commercially pure titanium. Its standout feature is enhanced stability under temperature fluctuations and localized corrosive environments. Grade 12 offers a balanced tensile strength and ductility, positioned between commercially pure titanium and titanium–aluminum alloys. It also has excellent formability and weldability, making on-site installation and maintenance convenient. This makes Grade 12 a well-balanced, cost-effective corrosion-resistant titanium alloy.
The alloying additions of molybdenum and nickel significantly improve its corrosion resistance in reducing acids such as hot sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, while also delivering excellent crevice corrosion resistance in chloride-rich environments. For equipment exposed to alternating temperatures, pressure fluctuations, and concentrated acid corrosion, Grade 12 performs exceptionally well. Thanks to its outstanding overall corrosion resistance, seamless Grade 12 titanium tubes can replace traditional high-alloy stainless steels or nickel-based alloys, achieving lower maintenance costs and longer service life under extended operating conditions.
Seamless Grade 12 titanium tubes are particularly well suited for high-temperature, strongly corrosive process piping in industries such as dye chemical production, pulp and paper, petroleum refining, and fertilizer manufacturing. Compared to stainless steel or other grades like Grade 2 and Grade 7, seamless Grade 12 titanium tubes exhibit superior adaptability in high-temperature, strong acid environments, enabling lower maintenance requirements and longer service cycles. As a result, they have become an ideal choice for safely transporting corrosive fluids under harsh service conditions.
